Donations
The needs of the families we work with are really pretty basic. Most are single parent mothers and grandmothers trying to raise the children as best they can. Keeping a roof over their head and food on the table is their biggest responsibility. These are hard working people with a strong belief and faith in their God. Some have just fallen on bad times while others have simply made bad decisions. Their needs are typically help with rent, their utility bills, and groceries. While many of these families are paying their bills, they are sacrificing proper meals to do so. They are faced with a choice between electricity or food, or even a roof over their heads or supper. This may seem extreme, but that is the reality of many of these families. And yes, this is in Charlotte, NC. You don't have to travel out of the city, state or even out of our country to find people in such need.
Is it our responsibility to support these families? If you will look at Acts 2:42-47, you'll see what God's intention was for a community. In verse 45 it says, "...they gave to anyone as he had need." The families we work with are in need and it is our responsibility to give. If you would like to help, you can send your checks to:

We need grocery store gift cards and gasoline gift cards! With our current economy it has become increasingly difficult for our families to pay for food, gas and still pay their bills. You can help by supplying these gift cards. This would make a tremendous difference in the lives of MANY of our families in need!

We always have families who need help with their utility bills and/or rent. Unfortunately, these are always last minute payments where we have to have funds on hand in order to help. If you can make regular donations that would be a tremendous blessing for these families.

We have recently created the New Leaf Foundation Scholarship Fund. Our goal is to provide funds for college for at least one student per year. For 2008, we have two graduating seniors that have the grades and determination to make it into college with a goal of getting involved in the medical profession. These two girls are determined to better their lives and the lives of those with whom they come in contact. We need your help to make their dreams and their impact on society a reality!
